Fr. Andrew Scordalakis, Parish Priest

Fr. Andrew Scordalakis is the Greek Orthodox Priest currently serving St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church in San Diego, CA. Fr. Andrew and his wife, Presbytera Diane are originally from Western New York. They have been married for over 40 years and have three children. He is a graduate of Buffalo State College University, earning a Bachelor of Philosophy and graduating Cum Laude in 1993. Fr. Andrew attended Holy Cross School of Theology in Brookline, MA and graduated in 1997 after earning his Master of Divinity. While at Holy Cross, Fr. Andrew represented the Seminary by participating in the National Council of Christians, Jews and Muslims forum in New York City.
In his senior year at Holy Cross Fr. Andrew spent several weeks traveling and studying in Athens and Thessaloniki, Greece, the (Patriarchate) Istanbul, Turkey and visiting the monasteries of Mount Athos, Greece. In December of 1996 he was ordained Deacon in his home parish The Annunciation GOC in Buffalo, NY by Bishop Maximos of Pittsburg of blessed memory. Upon returning to Seminary in 1997, Fr. Andrew served as deacon at St. George GOC in Lynn, MA.
Graduating from Seminary Fr. Andrew was ordained Priest by (then) Bishop Alexios in June of 1997 and served The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Atlanta, GA. In June of 1999 he was appointed to The Annunciation GOC in Pensacola, FL where he served the Greek Orthodox community for over seven years. During that time Fr. Andrew served several terms on the Metropolis Council of Atlanta and taught Introduction to Religion at Pensacola State College. In November of 2006, Fr. Andrew was appointed by His Eminence Metropolitan Gerasimos to serve St. Spyridon GOC in San Diego, California.
Presently, Fr. Andrew has been appointed by His Eminence Metropolitan Gerasimos to serve as Vicar for the Southern California Metropolis district. He has also been appointed to serve on the San Francisco Metropolis Council and serves on the Board for the National Archdiocesan Presbyters Council (APC).
Fr. Andrew is joined by his dedicated and loving wife Diane who enjoys her career as a Registered Nurse and has worked in Maternal Child Health for over 30 years. Together they are blessed to enjoy three children and five grandchildren.
